Bio:

Professor of critical care at faculty of medicine, Cairo University and Critical care consultant in As-Salam international hospital in Maadi. Working in the most two prestigious academic and private health care facilities in Egypt. Also running a private evening cardiology clinic in Giza. The university hospital is the work place for training, renovation, research and teaching however the additional private work added to my experience in surgical cases, transplantation, team building, leadership skills and reputation. Currently in Egypt I am known to be the ECMO expert, successfully built a core ECMO team and a multispecialty ECMO team in Cairo University with great reputation and success both academic and institutional. Appreciated by the faculty leaders we successfully got the approval to build a dedicated hemodynamic and respiratory extracorporeal life support unit in Cairo University and proud to be the main supervisor. In the private sector reached the position of critical care consultant and manager of the biggest intensive care in the private sector in Cairo within As-Salam international a JCI accredited hospital. Many accepted abstracts and published papers in the fields of Critical care, ECMO and cardiology. Lately shared in the guidelines on VA ECMO published in 2018. Award winner of best abstracts in acute cardiac care in Paris 2008 and several local meetings. Extensive training and work experience in the field of critical care in Egypt and ECMO training in Paris, Netherlands and Italy. Training in coronary intervention and IVUS in USA and France and consultant of interventional cardiology in AS-Salam hospital from 2006 till 2019. Speaker and organizer in several local and international conferences. Editor and reviewer in the Egyptian critical care journal. Active member in ECCC, ESC, ESICM, ACC, EAPCI and chairman of research and publishing at SWAAC- ELSO. Successfully accomplished the American university in Cairo hospital management diploma in 2017. Chair of SWAAC-ELSO conference, Cairo 2019. Elected as chairman of SWAAC ELSO chapter in 2020.
