Dr Ibrahim Fawzy

Bio:

Dr Ibrahim Fawzy graduated from National Medical University with honours. He completed his Residency and Fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. Named the Chief Resident at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and was also selected as the recipient of the Distinguish Alpha Omega Alpha Award as the “best resident” at NYPH-WCMC in 2007.

On completion of his training, Ibrahim joined the critical care team at Hamad General Hospital and WCMC-Q, where he became the director for medical critical care division. Furthermore, Ibrahim was elected to be the Corporate Director for Critical Care Center, in this role he represents the Critical Care at the corporate level, nationally and internationally. He is working closely with senior national leadership to shape the critical care services and strategies for it going forward.

Ibrahim’s area of expertise is the transport of critically ill patients and severe respiratory failure, leading to him founding the Qatar Mobile SRF-ECMO Program, established in 2014. In the same year, Ibrahim was chosen by Arab Health and Cleveland Clinic as “The young clinician of the year in the Middle East”. His extensive training and commitment to furthering his medical knowledge and skill set have been the foundations upon which he has built his career.
